For schools we have a discounted, low price for entry, of $12 plus free harness hire (standard student and harness is $18) per student during school hours (last start 3pm), this is for the 2019 school year forwards. This takes all the guess work out of budgeting for your visit (early opening time minimums apply, see below).
Many schools incorporate indoor rock climbing into their outdoor education and physical education curriculum. The Hangout provides an excellent opportunity to challenge students both mentally and physically in a comfortable, controlled environment. We can go beyond climbing by working with teachers to ensure students get more than just fun from us. If required, let us know what you would like the students to achieve, and the depth of involvement you desire and together we can make it happen. Rock climbing is not only popular as part of physical education programs, but also with other classes wishing to enhance communication skills and promote teamwork.
All of our staff hold senior first aid certificates and working with children clearances. We use climbing gym specific, semi-dynamic ropes and height-adjustable floor-mounted belay anchors for all top-ropes. We use ‘slow-go’ pulleys at the top of our ropes and Grigri’s for the belayer. We also use the double carabiner clip in method to ensure the utmost of safety during your visit.
We have $20,000,000 public liability insurance. A copy of our certificate of currency is available from downloads.
